An Oklahoma City police chemist was so good at getting conviction, that the police gave her the nickname "Black Magic". She was so good at what she did that the courts, based on her work and testimony, sent hundreds of people to jail and about ten to their deaths.

Now "Black Magic" is under intense investigation. All her cases are questioned. She allegidly has seen things in the lab that cannot be verified by other scientists. She allegidly said things on the witness stand that other scientists would not say.

"Black Magic" handled the case of Jeff Pierce who had been arrested for rape. He voluntarily gave the lab samples of his hair and blood. Five minutes later police said it matched. "Black Magic" testified that his hair samples were a means of positive identification. He was found guilty of rape and spent 15 years in jail.

A few weeks ago DNA tests proved he did not commit the rape. The FBI has been investigating the case since that time. Others found that the evidence at the Pierce trial did not support her testimony .

A jurist at the Pierce trial said that "Black Magic" was very confident in what she presented. She has had her faith in the criminal justice system shaken. She wishes Pierce well.

The Oklahoma lab, due perhaps to the superiors of "Black Magic", was a disgrace as well. Her lab systematically destroyed rape evidence after two years. Blood samples from three years were missing. A freezer breakdown compromised evidence from hundreds of cases.

Attorney Jack Pointer said: "We are asking the governor to stop all executions at this time"
