Essays on Police Brutality

Only 35% of Americans Will Object to Inflicting Pain and Severe Injury on Another

Only 35% of Americans would object to inflicting pain and severe injury on another according to the famous "Milgram's Obedience to Authority Test." Sampling theory suggests that Police, judges, and politicians would do far worse in this experiment. If a law orders that Police, judges, and politicians should inflict pain and severe injury on another, only a few seem to avoid application of the bad law. This site maintains concludes that the present group of police, judges, and politicians is too incompetent to be given jobs where they are responsible for the lives of others.

The following is a composite story of many readers that have written this site.  It is the story of an American citizen that didn’t thank an American cop for a speeding ticket.

The cop, infuriated at this lack of respect at not being thanked for the speeding ticket, maced the citizen.  He thought the American was discourteous and needed to be taught to respect cops.  The citizen tried to protect his face from the mace and touched the officer’s hand.  The cop was now livid at having been touched.  “How dare that stupid bastard assault and batter me”, he thought.  After macing the American, he cuffed him.  Then he emptied the remainder of the can of mace on the evil American.  “I am like a god” he thought to himself.  “I am rewarded by the courts for my behavior,” he thought. Therefore, he reasoned that the average Americans must evil and I must be correct in all my actions to be rewarded so well.

After the American almost died from the mace overdose, the cop took the American back to jail for a few nights.  The cop then filed an assault and battery charge against the American knowing that this would keep his evil American prisoner from filing police brutality charges.

The assault and battery charge carries a jail term of over two years in jail.  The only requirements are that the cop says he was touched.

The American citizen's lawyer tells him he can’t say anything because they have to suck up to the cop; the police prosecutor might let the American go if he grovels enough. You can't risk two years in jail, the lawyer said.  The American agrees to pay the cop $2000 for the imaginary damages he did to the cop in order to avoid trial and with the possibility of a life altering jail sentence. He knew he was being extorted and raped, but he had to play it safe.

The American is let go CWOF (continued without a finding).  The American had to pay his lawyer ten grand, and the cop two grand.  He can’t talk about the police brutality because he is afraid the cop might harass him and the whole thing might happen again.

Fantasy Solution

Justification

Cop

Assault and Battery with mace

Heavenly angels of justice should mace the cop and his family.  They should empty a can of mace on each making sure the mace gets in the eyes and mouth.

Cops should know what it feels like to have a family member maced (it feels like rape)

Police Prosecutor

Vexatious litigation, false charges, being in contempt of court.

Government should immediately disbar the police prosecutor and never let him practice law again.

Any prosecutor that files false or trumped up charges to cover up police brutality should be immediately disbarred.

Town

Racketeering and conspiracy to defraud.

Government should make the town liable for the legal expenses, lost work and suffering of all that were falsely charged and injured by the police

Each town would be liable for about one million a year.  This would aggregately total about 15 billion dollars a year or 300 billion dollars over a generation.

Apathetic Citizens

Apathy

Apathetic Americans should have to pay the 15 billion dollar a year compensation for police brutality

Americans have to write letters to government and newspapers.

America

Ignorance

China should charge the United States with human rights violations.

The United Nations commission on civil rights should take action against the United States for their massive human rights violations.

Citizens who speak out against police brutality activists

Ignorance

They should have to watch a twenty hour long movie of families that suffer from police brutality.

The people that stop activists are guilty of all bad government.

Kangaroo Courts

Malicious suspension of constitutional rights

Judges should be disbarred

Courts that suppress or suspend constitutional rights primarily to facillitate the cover-up of police brutality should be corrected (by government)

A few million letters to your senators and representatives might prod them into action on this silent menace.

Download this letter and send it to the friends and representatives.

Governor at the Pearly Gates

The governor (slang : one looked upon as governing) stood before the pearly gates of heaven.

The Angel of the gates asked him: Why did you allow police brutality, false imprisonment and excessive fines?

The governor asked: “What do you mean”.

The Angel replied: Quality control! Was there ever any quality control? Did government EVER scientifically ask questions of the arrested? Did you ALWAYS assume the police were right? Was communication to government limited by fear of police reprisals, police lies, falsified evidence, police harassment, excessive or false imprisonment or threats of imprisonment made to the victim or the witnesses?

The governor replied: “America’s courts are the best in the world. I have always refused to let the courts be criticized!”

The Angel replied: “You still don’t know that the American courts committed extortion and torture?”

The governor replied: “I, I don’t understand”

The Angel replied: “Indeed! Did you think the police had intelligent, sane judgment?”

The governor replied: “Well, not during high school …”

The Angel replied: “Don’t you have an expression on earth - Garbage In, Garbage Out?”

The governor replied: “I know, but we all liked to believe all the cop stories on TV. Did you ever see…”

The Angel replied: Was American Justice ever a double-edged sword? Did the police usually get prosecuted for their lies, errors, and excessive force? Was any case against the police be prosecuted simultaneously with the victim’s crime?

The governor replied: “The police investigate police.”

The Angel replied: “Did that work?”

The governor replied: “Ah, well actually Uh, only when the media got involved.”

The Angel replied: “Did the media get involved?”

The governor replied: “A few times. I wouldn’t have been elected if I criticized the police...”

The Angel replied: “But you would get into heaven.”

The Angel continued: Did you allow the suppression of litigation against government? Did fear of reprisal and longer sentences limit justice? Were the police allowed to accuse people of false crimes that resulted in days, weeks, or months or even years in jail?

The governor replied: “Yeah, but other countries were worse…”

The Angel replied: “Is that good logic?”

The governor replied: “No, but, but, everybody said it was…”

The Angel replied: “No man is a friend of force received. You were taught that to Turn the other cheek”.

The governor replied: “But everybody knows that doesn’t apply to governments!”

The Angel replied: YOU WILL BE SENT BACK TO HELL FOR ANOTHER LIFETIME! You will reincarnate!

The governor whined: “But what about the police?”

The Angel replied: “You will be one…”

Theme: Maxims of the Law and Police Brutality

{From Wikipedia.org}Flavius Petrus Sabbatius Justinianus or Justinian I (May 11, 483-November 13/14, 565), was Eastern Roman Emperor from August 1, 527 until his death. One of the most important rulers of Late Antiquity, he is best remembered for his reform of the legal code through the commission of Tribonian,

and the military expansion of imperial territory that was achieved during his reign, primarily through the campaigns of Belisarius. He is also known as "The last Roman Emperor." He is considered a saint in the Orthodox Church, commemorated on November 14.

 3. The maxims of law are these: to live honesty, to hurt no one, to give every one his due.

This guy was a superstar.   He codified the entirety of the law.  The maxims of human law were simply to live honesty, to hurt no one, to give every one his due.  All other law is the law of nations such as:

The law of the nations is common to all mankind, for nations have established certain laws, as occasion and the necessities of human life required. Wars arose, and in their train followed captivity and then slavery, which is contrary to the law of nature; for by that law all men are originally born free. Further, by the law of nations almost all contracts were at first introduced, as, for instance, buying and selling, letting and hiring, partnership, deposits, loans returnable in kind, and very many others.

The point is, if you are honest, hurt no one and gave every one his due, you have not broken the maxims of the law.  If the government, on the other hand, hurts you, causes you to have to hire a lawyer and scares the hell out of you with threatened jail time, then GOVERNMENT has broken the maxims of the law.

The government case is frequently like sliced baloney.  Frequently they have no fact, logic, or principle.  The only thing that holds the baloney together is maggots.
